As of October 2020, I've worked with Wholey Moly as a Social Media Manager and have created various pieces of content for their Instagram feed, stories, and Facebook page.
The first project was to develop a cover image for a carrousel post to showcase a production run/factory visit. As a social media manager, I need to consider the brands identity and guidelines as well as making sure the image will look aesthetically pleasing on the feed. To do this, I evaluated the current theme of the feed (colours, graphics used, general presence). I noticed that we had used the same colour on the feed in the last few posts so, I created a variation of the same post for the client to choose from. They have 4 key colours so I created the content with the three that hadn't recently appeared on the Instagram feed.
To ensure that the content above fits the brands guideline, I made sure to include the correct font, colours, patterns and logos.
Making sure at least one of these elements are implemented into each post is crucial to build the brand awareness and presence online. The aim is that the audience will associate a specific colour, font or pattern with your brand without even needing to think about it.
The next project was to create another social media post; a Christmas Present Reminder for our audience. This post needed to not only represent that brand following their guidelines as mentioned above but also, to share a specific message from the business to the customer.
For this post, I included the brands product that they were looking to push for Christmas sales, the recognisable colour and font, as well as clearly stating that the 21.12.20 was the last date to order in time for Christmas.
Once I had settled on the concept of this post and had it approved by the client, I made 2 variations of the design suitable for an Instagram post and a story post.
The most recent project for this client is to create a weekly post for their social account. Considering I began only as the social media manager, this is something I take very seriously as a new adaptation to my role and look forward to being able to develop my skills in this area of graphic design.
Each week, I am to create a piece of content that will be posted on a Friday. This will either be an image like the above, relatable and recognisable throughout the generic social media user, or an entertainment based image (memes or humorous content). While I am making this content, I need to ensure that the content on-brand and relatable to the Wholey Moly image.
